bike friday small 19

We all know that cargo bikes are great for transporting kids and goods. But where do you park and store these things? If you’ve got a house with a garage, sure. But what if you’re living in an apartment or an inner city home and don’t have a lot space to store a larger than average bike?

In living spaces where storage is at a premium, finding a place for a regular bike can be hard, let alone a bigger, heavier cargo bike. Unless you’ve got a dedicated area for bike storage, you could get stuck with where to put your new cargo bike.

And this, is exactly where the Bike Friday Haul-a-day bike comes in. With adjustable everything and an efficient folding system. The Haul-a-day lets you have all the advantages of a cargo bike without needing more storage. And it’s not only storage where the Haul-a-day wins out. The bike can be folded so small that it fits easily in the boot of a small hatchback (like a Honda Jazz) without having to fold the seats down.

Haul A Day in a Honda

Once folded the bike can stand upright on its rear end for a very small footprint and fits on things like the front of city buses and standard bike racks. For travel, it can be disassembled into two or three pieces.

When we say that the bike has adjustable everything and we mean it. In addition to being folded, the bike can be adjusted for a range of riders. The smallest rider the bike can accommodate is 1.37m and the largest is a whopping 1.93m!

This means that the Haul-a-day is flexible enough to be used by multiple members of the family. Or it can be a bike you buy for your teen that they can grow up with. Other cargo bikes can be adjusted, but not to the extent of the Haul-a-day.

Most cargo bikes are heavier than a regular bicycle. And for good reason. Their weight comes from being reinforced to carry heavier payloads and kids.

But as anyone who has ever owned a heavy bike will tell you, moving and and carrying a heavy bike on the daily can become a pain in the bum pretty quick.

Especially if you’re going up stairs.

So you probably think that, with all the adjustable thingos and the folding feature, the Haul-a-day would be a heavy clunky bicycle. Maybe even heavier than other cargo bikes.

Nope.

In fact it’s quite the opposite. The Haul-a-day starts at a measly 15 kg for the lightest version. And lightweight version can fitted to carry a weight (including rider) of up to 181 kg! You can even upgrade the bike to carry heavy loads of up to 231 kg!

Finally, the Bike Friday Haul-a-day is currently the only long-tail Cargo Bike built in the U.S.A.

So if you’re after a cargo bike and either want something small and compact, or a just looking for a cargo bike that doesn’t take up a lot of space. Take a look at the Haul-a-day bike below:
