Admin Lewis Butler –
So I had a Spicy Curry Bosch for 3 days, which is plenty of time to get besotted with it.
Coming by from riding a non-assisted bike, the Bosch system feels pretty natural and you can flick through the modes with the control on the left hand side.
Being long and low at the back, this bike will happily fit 2 kids on the rear, even biggish kids. I got told it was like being in a taxi.
From the riders perspective I didn’t want to get out my tape measure to check the handlebar width as I did with the Boda Boda. Nor did I wish I had mirrors to check on the wriggling passengers when riding, it just felt planted.
At times I felt the bike was a bit ‘light’ feeling in the front end, I’m told that having the front basket installed improves that immensely.
The only time this bike feel at all unstable is when it’s fully loaded and before the rider gets on, after that it’s like a normal bike even when stopped at the lights.
Specification wise, I wasn’t a fan of the adjustable stem, although I understand why it’s on the bike. Also if you ever have a day where you get around in tracksuit pants, beware the roller at the front – it is not a chainguard 🙁
